Gold-filled expansion bracelet, made in the late 19th or early 20th century, has a monogramed heart front and S-links which alternate between plain and embossed domes and curls.

The heart ornament has an etched design. The band is 5/8" unstretched. It will stretch up to about 10". It is best suited for a slim wrist.

Inside is stamped, on separate links: Carmen, The D.F. B. Co. The latter mark was used until 1922 when the name switched to D.F. Briggs Company. The company started making these bracelets in 1893 and as they became popular gifts, they adapted them for service men to give their girls and they became known as Sweetheart Bracelets.
